In Heidelberg since 2015

At MUDOKIDS, play, movement and discovery take centre stage. The programme is specially designed for children aged 4 to 6 and promotes basic motor skills, coordination, balance and body awareness – with lots of fun but a clear structure in the lessons.

We work with simple rituals and age-appropriate exercises: running, jumping, rolling, balance courses, reaction and dexterity games. Children experience the first principles of martial arts such as respect, mindfulness, focus and ‘saying stop’ – without competition and without sparring/contact exercises. This creates a safe environment in which children can build self-confidence, learn rules and orient themselves within the group.

Each session combines playful movement with short moments of rest so that children learn to distinguish between tension and relaxation. We encourage courage, curiosity and cooperation – there is no place for pressure or performance measurement here. If your child enjoys exercise (or needs to rediscover it), MUDOKIDS is an ideal, lovingly guided introduction. The best thing to do is to arrange a free trial session and give it a try.

What is it about & why does it work?

MUDOKIDS is a playful introduction to conscious movement. We promote basic skills and social interaction – with a clear structure, short rituals and without competition or physical contact. This gives children a sense of security, orientation and a feeling of achievement.

Physical competence:

Running, jumping, balancing, rolling – basic patterns are practised and coordinated

Self-regulation:

Active phases alternate with mini rest periods; children learn to control their pace and breathing.

Respect & Boundaries:

Greetings, listening, the “stop” signal and waiting at the line – simple rules provide stability.

Courage & self-confidence:

Small, achievable challenges make you strong – you can experience that feeling of ‘I can do it!’

Community:

Working together instead of against each other – helping, being there, taking a break and being there again become a matter of course.

Safety & structure:

Age-appropriate instruction, clear framework, no sparring/contact – the focus is on enjoying exercise.
